“Munger through the Ages” is written by “Late Devendra Prasad Yadav”. The book was released on August 7, 2014, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

The first copy of the book was presented to President Pranab Mukherjee by Dr. Karan Singh, the Chairman of India Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR). In the book, the late writer D. P. Yadav illustrated the rich history and heritage of Munger district. As well as, he also explained the geographical and demographic feature of the district, during the days of Independence of India the administration has been described, and the various modern day’s challenges have been taken forward through his writing. In his lifetime, D. P. Yadav wrote many other books on Bihar and various other aspects of the city and the administrative development.

While addressing the book release ceremony the then President Pranab Mukherjee, remembered his longtime association with Late D. P. Yadav. In 1971, he was first elected to Parliament and was the member of 5th, 7th, and 8th Lok Sabha. He was one of the very active Parliamentarian. He played the major role in the development of the ‘Panchayati Raj Act’. Mr. Yadav’s work was majorly focused on Rural Development, Agro-Forestry work, and Waste Land Development.
In 1971-1977, he has been appointed as the ‘Deputy Minister in the Education Ministry’ by Indira Gandhi the then Prime Minister of India. He has been appointed as the Chairman of Central School Organization, by the Government of India. He was also the Chairman of IFFCO and showed his administrative capabilities. The book release ceremony was felicitated by the number of political leaders like Union Minister Rao Indrajit Singh, Meira Kumar Lok Sabha Speaker, and many others were present including the Managing Director of IFFCO Dr. Uday Shankar Awasthi.
