The Minister of Steel is the minister in charge of the
Ministry of Steel and one of India's cabinet ministers. He is aided by a Secretary to the Government of India, an Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser to the Indian government, one Economic Adviser of the rank of Joint Secretary, 4 Joint Secretaries, 2 Deputy Secretaries, 6 Directors, One
Deputy Director, 12 Under Secretaries, and other Officers and supporting staff, as well as a Technical Wing under the direction of an Industrial Advisor to the
Government of India. Shri RCP Singh is the present Hon'ble Minister of Steel.
Ram Chandra Prasad Singh is a former national president of the Janata Dal in India (United). Since 2010, he has served in the Rajya Sabha as a
Member of Parliament for Bihar. Before entering politics, he was an IAS official from the
Uttar Pradesh cadre. He was also Nitish Kumar's principal secretary. When the cabinet was reshuffled in the second
Modi administration, he became Minister of Steel. Singh was born to Sukhdeo Narayan Singh and Dukhalalo Devi in Mustaffapur, Bihar's Nalanda district. On May 21, 1982, he married Girija Singh, with whom he had two kids. Lipi Singh, his first daughter, is an IPS officer from the 2016 batch, while Lata, his second daughter, is a lawyer.
