Ram Chandra Prasad Singh is a **former national president of the Janata Dal** in India (United). Since 2010, he has served in the Rajya Sabha as a **Member of Parliament** for Bihar. Before entering politics, he was an **IAS official** from the [Uttar Pradesh](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/93065/what-is-new-rules-of-lockdown-4-in-uttar-pradesh) cadre. He was also Nitish Kumar's **principal secretary**. When the cabinet was reshuffled in the second [Modi](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/93104/what-do-you-know-about-pm-modi-s-family) administration, he became Minister of Steel. Singh was born to Sukhdeo Narayan Singh and Dukhalalo Devi in Mustaffapur, Bihar's Nalanda district. On May 21, 1982, he married Girija Singh, with whom he had two kids. Lipi Singh, his first daughter, is an IPS officer from the 2016 batch, while Lata, his second daughter, is a lawyer. \
