Ring network topologies connect nodes in a ring or a loop. Data is passed from one computer system to the next around the ring until it reaches its destination.
When a simple network is required, ring network topologies are used. They are appropriate for locations that do not require extremely fast data transfer speeds and where the network's size or structure is unlikely to change. A ring network topology, for example, could be used in a small office with only a few nodes.
