Ring network topologies connect nodes in a ring or a loop. Data is passed from one computer system to the next around the ring until it reaches its destination. When a simple network is required, **ring network topologies are used.** They are appropriate for locations that do not require extremely fast data transfer speeds and where the network's size or structure is unlikely to change. A ring network topology, for example, could be used in a small office with only a few nodes. \
