What do Reddit moderators get out of being mods on Reddit?

Redditors who give their time to assist guide and create Reddit's many communities are known as moderators, or mods for short.

• Each Reddit community has its own purpose, look, and regulations, such as what posts are appropriate for that community and how users should act.
• Mods can accomplish a variety of things in their communities, including:
• Make it clear that their posts or comments are moderator submissions.
• Their community's posts and comments will be removed.
• Spammers and other Redditors who may be violating community rules should be barred from posting or commenting in your community. Other Redditors can be made moderators.
• A list of the moderators of a community may be found on the right sidebar of the website. On the mobile app, the list of moderators may be seen under the About page of a community. Moderators are not Reddit employees and have no unique abilities outside of the community they oversee.
