The 'International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People' is preserved on, November 29.
The United Nations operates the
International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The United Nations offices in New York, and the United Nations offices in
Geneva, Vienna, and Nairobi, host events. It is usually celebrated on November 29 every year to commemorate the anniversary of
UN Resolution 181, which campaigned for the division of Palestine into 2 states:
one Arab and one Jewish. It was celebrated on
December 1, 2003.
The yearly observance was created in
UN General Assembly Resolution on
December 2, 1977, with the first year beginning in 1978. The research The
Origins and Evolution of the Palestine Problem was recommended in the same motion. The creation of historic postcards was proposed in
Resolution on December 12, 1979. Special memorial events are planned by the
United Nations Secretariat's Division for Palestinian Rights in collaboration with the
Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.
