Malaysia's AirAsia Group said on Friday that it has changed the name of its publicly traded holding company to Capital A to meet the diverse needs of its business portfolio as it attempts to increase non-airline income.

Capital A Berhad is a Malaysian malaysian multinational low-cost airline based in Kuala Lumpur. In regards of fleet capacity and routes, it is Malaysia's major airline. AirAsia has scheduled local and international flights to over 165 locations in 25 countries. Its primary base is the low-cost carrier sector at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia. Philippines AirAsia, Thai AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia, and AirAsia India have bases in Jakarta–Soekarno-Hatta, Bangkok–Don Mueang, Bangalore–Kempegowda, Manila–Ninoy Aquino, whereas AirAsia X concentrates on long-haul services. The registered office of AirAsia is in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, while the main office is at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
