1. Examine your Internet connection:
Check to see if you have an active internet connection as the first step. Play Store will not download or update apps on your phone if the connection is too slow or there is a network problem. Connect to a high-quality wireless network. If you're using VPN software, try turning it off to see if it helps.
2. Check the Storage on Your Phone:
Another alternative is to see if your Android phone has enough storage. You won't be able to download new apps or update existing apps from Google Play Store if your phone doesn't have enough free storage.
To see how much storage you have, go to Settings > Storage. The detailed storage distribution, including the amount of free and occupied storage, may be found here. In order for your phone to function properly, you usually need roughly 10% of its storage space free.
3. Clear Cache & Data; Force Stop Google Play Store:
Most troubles with app downloads and updates on any other version can be resolved by forcing Google Play Storeto close and cleaning its cache and data. To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to your phone's settings.
- Go to the Apps menu and select All Apps.
- Here, search for Google Play Store and select it.
- Select Force Stop from the App Info screen.
- Next, go to Storage and clear the cache and data.
Reopen the Play Store and attempt updating the app once more.
4. Delete Data from Google Play Services and Other Services:
The Google Play Store relies on third-party services to work properly. Google Play Services, Download Manager, and Google Services Framework are all included. If you're having trouble upgrading apps, remove the cache and data for Google Play services, Google Services Framework, and Download Manager in the same way. Also, make sure your phone's Download Manager isn't turned off.
5. Remove and reinstall Google Play Store updates:
- Go to your phone's settings.
- Go to the Apps menu and select All Apps.
- Open Google Play Store by searching for it.
- Tap Uninstall Updates from the three dots in the upper right corner.
- To confirm, tap OK.
6. Deactivate and reactivate your Google account:
The final option is to deactivate your GoogleAccount and then reactivate it on your phone. This should resolve any account-related issues that are preventing apps from installing or upgrading on your phone.
- Go to your phone's settings.
- Scroll down and select Accounts from the drop-down menu.
- Click Google, and then click Remove Account.
- Restart your phone and re-enter the account information.
