Delete an app's
temporary files (also known as
Cache files) to clear up space on your
smartphone and fix performance issues. If
Chrome
isn't updating from the
Play Store, delete the cache files from the
Play Store. The
Android Download Manager and
Google Play Services
are two examples of system programs that should be disabled.
1. Hold the Play Store app icon in your hand and tap the info symbol.
2. Select Storage & Cache from the drop-down menu.
3. Tap
Clear Cache to clear any temporary data from
Chrome
on your device.
Try upgrading
Chrome
from the Play Store once more to see if you get lucky this time. Otherwise, clear the cache data for the
Google Play service.
The Download Manager is a system function that makes it easier to download programs from the
Google Play Store. You might have trouble installing or upgrading apps on the Play Store if you have a problem with the
Download Manager.
Clearing the Download Manager's cache, on the other hand, frequently resolves these issues. Close the
Play Store, cancel any outstanding app downloads, and proceed with the steps below.
1. Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > Apps
& Notifications > Select Show system from the menu icon in the top-right
corner of All Apps.
2. Select Download Manager from the list of programs.
3. Select Storage & Cache from the drop-down menu.
4. Select the Clear Cache option.
5. Go to the
Play Store and
update
Chrome once again.
