Delete an app's **temporary files** (also known as **Cache** files) to clear up space on your **smartphone** and fix performance issues. If **[Chrome](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94714/how-do-i-update-google-chrome)** isn't updating from the **Play Store**, delete the cache files from the **Play Store**. The **Android Download Manager** and **Google Play Services** are two examples of system programs that should be disabled. Close **[Google Chrome](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94714/how-do-i-update-google-chrome)** and proceed with the steps below.\
\
1. Hold the **Play Store** app icon in your hand and tap the info symbol.\
2. Select **Storage** & **Cache** from the drop-down menu. 3. Tap **Clear Cache** to clear any temporary data from **[Chrome](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94714/how-do-i-update-google-chrome)** on your device. \
Try upgrading **[Chrome](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94714/how-do-i-update-google-chrome)** from the Play Store once more to see if you get lucky this time. Otherwise, clear the cache data for the **Google Play service**. \
The **Download Manager** is a system function that makes it easier to download programs from the **Google Play** Store. You might have trouble installing or upgrading apps on the Play Store if you have a problem with the **Download Manager**.\
\
Clearing the **Download Manager's cache**, on the other hand, frequently resolves these issues. Close the **Play Store**, cancel any outstanding app downloads, and proceed with the steps below.\
\
1. Go to **Settings** > **Apps** & **Notifications** > **Apps** & **Notifications** > Select Show system from the menu icon in the **top**-**right** corner of All **Apps**. 2. Select **Download Manager** from the list of programs.\
3. Select **Storage** & **Cache** from the drop-down menu.\
4. Select the **Clear Cache** option.\
5. Go to the **Play Store** and **update [Chrome](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94714/how-do-i-update-google-chrome)** once again.\
