Reasons  the Google Chrome volume not working:

  • In another browser, play sound. This will aid in determining the source of the issue.
  • Refresh the Chrome tab that isn't playing sound.
  • Chrome should be restarted.
  • Right-click on the page's tab to make sure it's not muted. If your site is muted, you'll see an option to unmute it.
  • Make sure you're using the most recent version of Chrome. When you click on the three vertical dots in the top right-hand corner of the screen, the Update Chrome notice appears if there is an update available.
  • Clear cookies and cache in Chrome by clicking the three dots in the top right-hand corner, then More tools > Clear browsing data, and finally Clear browsing data. Clear data > all time
  • Look for any possible malware. Open Chrome's settings, then Advanced, Clean up computer, then Find. If malware is discovered, choose Remove.
  • Make sure Chrome isn't muted or the volume in the Volume Mixer isn't too low.
  • If the Pepper Flash extension is installed, go to 'chrome:/extensions' and disable it.
  • After going over each extension, delete and reinstall it, and check for sound.
  • Reset your Chrome settings by going to Settings > Advanced > Reset in Chrome.
