Apple has a number of programmes that Windows PC users may find appealing, and you don't have to buy a new system to try them out. You can run Apple's OS X on your Intel-based PC using an application called
VirtualBox. This will be a full version of OS X, including the ability to run Apple-specific software such as Mac apps and programmes.
Install VirtualBox as well as the VirtualBox Extension Pack.
Download the ISO files for Hackboot 1 and Hackboot 2. These ISOs will be needed to start the OS X installer as well as the operating system.
To begin, open VirtualBox and select 'New.'
Give the new virtual machine a name and select Mac OS X in the Operating System box, as well as 'Mac OS X Server (64 bit)' in the Version box.
Allocate RAM to your virtual machine using the slider; at least 4GB of RAM is suggested.
Select 'Create New Disk' from the 'Next' menu. The software will now return to its home screen.
.Click 'Settings' from the context menu of the identified OS X virtual machine.
. In the System tab, uncheck the box next to 'Enable EFI.' EFI is a BIOS alternative, but as of August 2013, Windows machines cannot utilise EFI to boot in VirtualBox.
Navigate to the Storage tab and select the Empty CD symbol. Choose the Hackboot 1 ISO under 'Choose a virtual CD/DVD disc file.' When your virtual machine wakes up for the first time, it will boot from Hackboot 1.
