- Apple has a number of programmes that Windows PC users may find appealing, and you don't have to buy a new system to try them out. You can run Apple's OS X on your Intel-based PC using an application called **VirtualBox**. This will be a full version of [**OS**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95860/how-does-fix-troubleshoot-common-apple-macbook-problems) X, including the ability to run Apple-specific software such as Mac apps and programmes.
- Install VirtualBox as well as the VirtualBox Extension Pack.
- Download the ISO files for Hackboot 1 and Hackboot 2. These ISOs will be needed to start the OS X installer as well as the operating system.
- To begin, open VirtualBox and select **'New.'**
- Give the new virtual machine a name and select Mac OS X in the Operating System box, as well as 'Mac OS X Server (64 bit)' in the Version box.
- Allocate RAM to your virtual machine using the slider; at least 4GB of RAM is suggested.
- Select 'Create New Disk' from the 'Next' menu. The software will now return to its home screen.
- .Click 'Settings' from the context menu of the identified OS X virtual machine.
- . In the System tab, uncheck the box next to 'Enable EFI.' EFI is a BIOS alternative, but as of August 2013, Windows machines cannot utilise EFI to boot in VirtualBox.
- Navigate to the Storage tab and select the Empty CD symbol. Choose the Hackboot 1 ISO under 'Choose a virtual CD/DVD disc file.' When your virtual machine wakes up for the first time, it will boot from Hackboot 1.
