  • If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you could end up with major issues that force you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you will be able to resolve issues that arise as a result of incorrectly using Registry Editor. At your own risk, use Registry Editor. Only the registry entries relating to a programme that appear in the Add/Remove Programs tool are removed in the steps that follow.
  • Open the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
  • Search for the following key:
  • HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  • Locate the key that has to be destroyed by looking for the key name that the software generated. If the key's name isn't obvious, look through each one and take note of the value for DisplayName. In the Add/Remove Programs tool, this is the string that may be seen.
  • To make a backup, use the Registry option to export the selected registry key. Keep the.reg file somewhere secure in case you need to import it at a later time.
  • Delete the registry key and its values that you've chosen. Remove only the Uninstall key, not the complete Uninstall key.
  • Shut down Registry Editor.
  • Make that the reference is no longer accessible in the Add/Remove Programs tool.
