  • Go to the Apple menu and select About This Mac to see your current software version.
  • Yosemite (Mac OS 10.10) is a free upgrade for Macs purchased after Summer 2009. Your Mac must be running one of the relevant software versions on one of the compatible hardware types to be eligible for the free upgrade. To upgrade, go to the Apple Menu and choose Software Update, or search for 'OS X Yosemite' on the App Store.
  • System Requirements
  • OS X 10.5.8 or later is required.
  • RAM of at least 1 GB
  • 2.5 GB of hard disc space is available.
  • A CPU from Intel
  • If you're installing over a network, you'll need a DVD drive or access to a local area network, as well as an internet connection (if downloading from IUware)
  • HFS+ is a hard disc file system (also known as Mac OS Extended or HFS Plus)
  • Monitor with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels or higher
  • Safari 5 or later is required (recommended)
