Mahendra Singh Dhoni famously known as MSD, Mahi, MS Dhoni or Captain Cool. He is the only player who captainedIndia for the most number of Test Cricket Format. He captained India in 60 Test Matches, more than any previous or present Captains of India in this particular format of cricket.
Dhoni is the only Indian player who captained and won World Cup total 3 times. Twice in One Day International World Cup and One in T20 InternationalWorld Cup. There is no hesitation in saying that he has been the most successful captain of Indian Team in all the three formats of cricket.
He started his career as a Wicket-Keeper and Batsman. Dhoni is regarded as one of the greatest finishers in the limited over match as well as one of the Best Wicket-Keeper in the World Cricket.
He has been awarded the “ICC ODI Player of the Year” in 2008 and 2009 and became the first player to win the award twice and in a row too. He is been also decorated with prestigious awards like, “Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award” in 2007, the “Padma Shri”, India’s 4th highest Civilian Honor in 2009 and the “Padma Bhushan”, India’s 3rd highest Civilian Honor in 2018. The “Indian Territorial Army” honored him by presenting the rank of Lieutenant Colonel on November 1, 2011. He is the 2nd Indian Cricketer to receive this honor after Kapil Dev.
