The state government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) has announced jobs to the dependants of martyred soldiers. The state government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) headed by the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath decided in a cabinet meeting that the state government will provide employment to the dependants of martyred soldiers of armed forces and central paramilitary forces who had a domicile of origin in Uttar Pradesh (UP). The cabinet minister of the state Shrikant Sharma stated that the dependants of martyred soldiers who attained martyrdom while discharging their duties will be given jobs on compassionate grounds. The cabinet minister also stated that this will be a tribute to the soldiers by the state government who laid down their lives for the nation.

Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma are the Deputy Chief Ministers of the state. The literacy rate of the state is 69.72%. Hindi is the official language of the state with Urdu being the additional official language.
