The **state government** of **Uttar Pradesh (UP)** has announced jobs to the **dependants** of martyred soldiers. The state government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) headed by the **Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath** decided in a cabinet meeting that the state government will provide employment to the dependants of martyred soldiers of armed forces and central paramilitary forces who had a **domicile** of **origin** in Uttar Pradesh (UP). The **cabinet minister** of the state **Shrikant Sharma** stated that the dependants of martyred soldiers who attained martyrdom while discharging their duties will be given jobs on compassionate grounds. The cabinet minister also stated that this will be a tribute to the soldiers by the state government who laid down their lives for the nation.

The literacy rate of the state is **69.72%**. **Hindi** is the official language of the state with **Urdu** being the additional official language.
