The Liaquat-Nehru Pact was signed between the two neighboring countries ‘India’ and ‘Pakistan’ by the then Prime Ministers of both the countries i.e. between the Indian Prime Minister “Jawahar Lal Nehru” and the Pakistan Prime Minister “Liaquat Ali Khan”. The treaty was signed by them in ‘New Delhi’. The treaty was the outcome of 6 days talk to save the rights of the minorities in both countries and prevent both countries from any other war between them, after the India and Pakistan Partition.
After the treaty was signed a ‘Minority Commission’ was set up in both countries. Which results in migration of more than 1 Million refugees from ‘East Pakistan’ (now Bangladesh) to ‘West Bengal’ in India.
