    There are tremendous benefits of drinking water early in the morning. In prabhat vela (usha kaal) which is upto two hours before sunrise, the human body has the preponderance of vata element in it. The increased vata is struggling to expel accumulated toxins out of the system.

    What is the benefit of drinking water after waking up?

    The apana vata which is responsible for flushing out stools and urine is at work to remove the waste products. Other body doshas like kapha or pitta, if present interfere with the working of vata to flush out the toxins and body wastes. Water, especially warm water early in the morning comes in exactly here to help the vata to flush out body toxins and wastes. Early morning water, therefore, effectively detoxifies the body. 

    It clears the blood stream of toxins and clears the gut of accumulated doshas. It helps to clear bowels and remove blood impurities through urine. No wonder, early morning water intake is stated to be conducive to good health and promotes longevity.

    I have this habit of drinking 2 glasses of lukewarm water with lime and honey every morning just after I rise from my bed. And I can swear I see a big change in the entire day compared to the day I don't have it.

    There is a reason behind it. After a long hours of sleep, your body is deprived of enough water which we call in simple terms as “dehydration”. Body's metabolism drops to your lowest and that's why people often have to struggle leaving their bed. I

    n order to revive your dropped metabolism, your body needs adequate supply of fluid along with some essential minerals. And in my opinion, there is nothing better than a jug of water added with lime and honey. It kick-starts your day on a positive note and you can plan it afterwards accordingly.
