Kandla Port trust which is located on the Gulf of Kutch in Gujrat has been renamed as Deendayal Port trust. Shipping ministry issued a notification stating that Kandla Port Trust has been renamed as Deendayal Port Trust.
It was officially done on 25th of September 2017, it is one of the major 12 ship port across India.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi himself gave the suggestion of renaming this port the moto of changing the name is to honor Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay who contributed much of his life in uplifting the poor people.
