Lt Gen Vinod Vashisht is the newly appointed Director General of National Cadet Corps (NCC)(He was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in June 1979). He is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Higher Command Course and National Defence College.
Prior to this appointment, he was the Commandant at Officers Training Academy at Gaya, Bihar. He succeeded Lt Gen A Chakravarty, who retired on August 31, 2016.
On 23 December 2016Lt Gen Vinod Vashisht took over the reins of National Cadet Corps (NCC) as its Director General.
