My Android phone still runs well, but its manufacturer has stopped providing security updates. I’m trying to understand why support can end while the battery, screen, and processor are still perfectly usable.
How much does the Android security update policy depend on the phone maker, chipset, or carrier? And if a device no longer receives patches, what risks should an ordinary owner weigh before deciding whether to keep using it?
