My laptop loses a noticeable amount of battery overnight even when I shut it down, rather than leaving it in sleep mode. It’s a fairly recent machine, and the battery report doesn’t show an obvious capacity problem.
What should I check first: whether it is truly powering off, a connected device drawing power, or a firmware setting? I’m trying to narrow down the cause before changing settings that might affect startup or battery life.
