Account security is critical for protecting your Reddit profile from unauthorized access and credential stuffing attacks. Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of defense by requiring a time-based one-time password (TOTP) from an authenticator app in addition to your password.
Steps to Enable 2FA on Reddit
Follow these steps using a desktop browser:
- Log into your account and navigate to User Settings.
- Click on the Safety & Privacy tab.
- Scroll down to Two-Factor Authentication and toggle it on.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password).
- Enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the app to confirm setup.
Important Security Notes
Make sure to download and safely store your backup codes in case you lose access to your primary authenticator device.
