Jammu and Kashmir is the union territory of India. It is famous for temples like Vaishno Devi and landscape like gulmarg and dal lake. People of Jammu and Kashmir reflect a blend of diverse traditionz, languages and cuisines.

Handicrafts, tourism and agriculture are important part of its economy. In this region one more beautiful place named “ Sonamarg”, meanig" Meadow of Gold", is a beatiful, breathtaking hill town located in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir.

It is approx 80 km northeast of Srinagar, at an altitude of around 2800 meters above sea level. Sonamarg lies on the bank of the Sindhu River, surrounded by mesmerising snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas.

Sonamarg also connects the Kashmir valley with Ladakh by the most amazing gateways to the famous Zoji La Pass. It's beauty lies in the unspoiled natural beauty.

Alpine flowers, create a picture perfect contrast against the white glaciers and lush green slopes, during spring and summer season. The are gives more dynamic views thrugh the Sindh River, rice with trout and mahseer fish. Towering mountins such as Kolhoi Peak and Machoi Peak make Sonamag a paradie for trekkers and nature lovers.

Sonamarg is also a popular baade for various high altitude treks  which includes Thajiwas Glacier, Vishansar Lake, Gangbal Lake and Krishansar Lake. In winter, Sonamarg turns into a snow land, appealing enthusiasts for snowbording, sliding and sledding.

Sonamarg town in Jammu and Kashmir not only appealing for enthusiasts but also imortant for religious people as the starting point of the annual Amarnath Yatra. It is one of the holiest pilgrimages in Hinduism, pilgrims and trekkers alike pass through baltal, a nearby valley that provides access to sacred Amarnath Cave.

Sonamarg local culture reflects a blend of Kashmiri tradition and hospitality. With it's beatiful landscapes, spirituality and warmth of culture, it turns to be one of the most beautiful place in Jammu and Kashmir.
