Critical thinking and complex problem solving should be important in education. The workers have to process information, determine fundamental problems, assess options, and make rational decisions. Rote memory is inefficient in the world of continuous disruption.

Technological agility and digital fluency is required. This needs one to know about data, artificial intelligence concepts, cybersecurity as well as quick learning of new tools. All workers need to make the maximum use of technology in every position.

It is important to be flexible and robust. Learning should be inculcated that would allow education to contribute to a growth mentality that allows one to learn and recover during the time of failure and encourage an active impact regarding changes in job requirements. One of the core competencies is flexibility.

Communication and teamwork (inter alia, around heterogeneous teams), in particular, are central. Learning should include eloquence (speaking), listening, cultural awareness and consensus-fostering. Work in isolation is becoming less and less effective.

Lastly, education should focus on creativity and innovation. The concept of novelty management and solving new challenges requires a divergent way of thinking, challenging of assumptions, creation of original ideas and bringing concepts back to value. Being an experimental and creative problem solver really matters.

Conclusion:

The education system should immediately produce dynamic digital savvy critical thinkers who can work in multi-disciplinary teams and be innovative. Focusing on problem-solving, agility in technology, resiliency, communication skills, and creativity are necessary to be able to be employable individually as well as be economically competitive. Lack of incorporating the skills will ensure obsolescence of the workforce. Change is a must.
