Climate change is a pressing issue that affects our planet, and its impact can be felt across the globe. The latest research on climate change shows that it is continuing to worsen, and there is an urgent need for action to address it.

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the earth's temperature has already risen by 1.1°C above pre-industrial levels, and it is likely to reach 1.5°C by 2040. This temperature rise is causing numerous environmental impacts such as melting glaciers, rising sea levels, and increased frequency and severity of extreme weather events like heatwaves, droughts, and hurricanes. Climate change also has significant economic and social implications, such as displacement of communities and increasing economic inequality.

To address the challenge of climate change, governments, corporations, and individuals worldwide have taken several actions. One of the primary measures taken by governments globally is the adoption of the Paris Agreement. The Paris Agreement, signed by 197 countries, aims to limit the global temperature rise to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature rise to 1.5°C. Under the agreement, countries have committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and to regularly reporting on their progress towards meeting their targets.

Many countries are taking measures to transition to renewable energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. For example, in 2020, the European Union (EU) announced a plan to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. China, the world's largest emitter of greenhouse gases, has also set a target to reach peak emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The United States, under President Joe Biden, has rejoined the Paris Agreement and committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
