The Ukrainian conflict has been ongoing for over two years now, and there is no end in sight The country is in the midst of a civil war, with fighting raging in the east between the Ukrainian army and pro-Russian separatists.  The battle has displaced over a million people and claimed the lives of over 10,000. And the conflict shows no signs of abating. The war has also devastated the economy, with GDP shrinking by more than 10% in 2015. And the situation doesn't seem to be improving anytime soon.

So what would happen if Belarus, a country bordering Ukraine and Russia, were to join the war?

On the one hand, Belarus could tip the balance of power in the conflict. The Belarusian military is larger and better equipped than either the Ukrainian or Russian forces. Belarus could also provide a much-needed boost to the beleaguered Ukrainian army.

On the other hand, Belarus joining the war could also escalate the conflict. Russia could respond by sending in more troops or supplies to support the rebels. This could lead to a full-scale war between Russia and Belarus, which would be devastating for both countries.

Belarus shares a border with Ukraine and has traditionally been a close ally. However, Belarus has been undergoing a gradual process of Russia's integration, and there is a significant pro-Russian faction within the country. If Belarus were to join the war on Russia's side, it would be a major victory for Moscow.

Conversely, if Belarus were to join the war on Ukraine's side, it would be a significant blow to Russia. Belarus has a strong military, and its entry into the conflict would tip the balance in favor of Ukraine.

It's impossible to say for sure, but it's likely that Belarus would find itself drawn into a protracted and bloody conflict. The Ukrainian army is no match for the Russian military, and Belarus would be quickly outmatched. Moreover, intervention would likely lead to Western sanctions against Belarus, further isolating the country. So while intervention in the conflict might seem like a good idea on paper, it's likely that it would lead to more problems than it would solve.
