Did Muhammad send his followers to India for gaining knowledge before spreading Islam?
Talking about whether Muhammad sent his followers to India for gaining knowledge before spreading Islam, there have been many incidents that state that many followers of Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, had visited India. Most of the followers of the prophet Muhammad visited South India. There has been a long belief that Prophet Adam came down to earth and reached the hills of South India. There is a famous saying from the prophet, “I feel a cool breeze from Al-Hind.” One of the followers of Prophet Muhammad, Prophet Noah, who built his ship in South India, is worshipped as 'Thoniyappar' ( Meaning the lord of the ship) by the people of South India. Prophet David stayed in South India, and there is a tomb built for him in Muthupettai in Tamil Nadu State. One of the companions of Prophet Muhammad, Thameemul Ansari's holy grave is located in Kovalam near Chennai. Another important Sahabi (Companions of Prophet Muhammed), Syed Ukkashah Oliyullah, the one who saw the Seal of Prophets (Nubuwath) in the Shoulder of Prophet Muhammed, visited the Portonovo city in Tamil Nadu, and since then many people go to his shrine.
These shreds of evidence are proof that Muhammad sends his followers to India but nothing clearly states whether for gaining knowledge before spreading Islam or not.
