What are some common uses for Hotmail?

Hotmail- Introduction

Hotmail has not been around for an extended amount of time. Microsoft was aware that Hotmail was quite popular a few years back and did not want to cause inconvenience to their loyal customers by discontinuing the “@hotmail” as an address. Microsoft has currently folded Hotmail into Outlook.

Typical uses of Hotmail-

Although Hotmail is now gone and currently Microsoft Outlook has taken its place, the foremost common uses of Hotmail were as follows:

1. Hotmail provided a built-in audio player capable of playing MP3 format audio clips or voice mails after it had scanned the files for viruses.

2. It had a feature that could integrate other Windows live services.

3. The structure of Hotmail was focused on a simple but effective concept. The reading pane was to allow the users to read a mail and scroll through the inbox at the same time.

4.   Hotmail had an in-built spell checker feature that enabled the users to check on the spelling of the words; in it, the wrongly spelled words were underlined in red, and a right click n the mouse presented the list of recommendations of the correct word.

5.   It provided the user the ability to select various themes. The users were allowed to choose any piece of their choice from a list of multiple Windows to live themes.

Hotmail was indeed a one-of-a-kind email service provider which provided some great and unique features which were not present in the other email service providers at that time.
