Microsoft developed Outlook, a personal information organiser. It's available as a standalone programme or as part of their Office Suite. Its primary use is as an email client, but it also includes a calendar, task management, contact manager, note-taking, journal, and web browser. Microsoft has also released mobile apps for the majority of smartphone platforms, including IOS and Android.

Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith started Hotmail in 1996. In 2013, Outlook.com took its place. Microsoft Office 365 is a web-based package of webmail, contacts, tasks, and calendaring services. After being acquired by Microsoft in 1997, it was renamed MSN Hotmail and became one of the top webmail services in the world. Microsoft has changed its name several times throughout the years, the most recent alteration being the switch to Outlook.com from the Hotmail service.
