Almost 40%of the content on Netflix is their original content. Out of the 6000 titles available on the Netflix library, about 2400 are their original shows. According to estimates, by the end of this year, Netflix will successfully have 50% of original content on its platform. The strategy of Netflix to invest in original content has enabled it to win new subscribers.

In 2019, Netflix spent a hefty amount of 15.3 billion dollars on producing video content. Netflix targeted about 80%of this share of the money for generating original content.
Attraction and retainment of such a large number of subscribers prove the success of Netflix's original content. Orange is the new black, To all boys I've loved before, and the most recent, The Queen's Gambit, are some of the most loved content of the Netflix original series.

Netflix's unique and original content has enabled it to cut through the noise and stand out in the world's sea of content. This is why Netflix is determined to produce more of its original content. This would help it provide quality content to its users and attract new subscribers and retain the existing ones.

While some people also believe that Netflix is under considerable debt caused due to excessive investing in its original content. To pull off this debt, Netflix has convinced organizations to support and maximize the production of original content so that the revenue generated by the gain of subscribers could be used to pay the debt back.
