The pros and cons of mesh topology

  • Mesh Topology can handle a lot of traffic: Mesh Topology lacks a hierarchical relationship. Assume any device is connected to it and tries to contact another by directly utilising the devices' routing capability. They will be able to do it in that case.
  • The failure of a single device has no effect on the network: Mesh topology is exceptional in terms of problem resistance. Each network node receives and translates information. The structure offers its users enough redundancy that they can keep it running even if some malfunctions occur. If one node fails, the network is strong enough to use the remaining nodes to complete the mesh.
  • Because Mesh Topology can handle a large number of networks, there is a high risk of redundant connections being established.
  • Each node has a heavier workload: the nodes have many responsibilities, and each must act as a router. As a result, the system is extremely complex.
  • Issues with latency: Low power Mesh Topology lacks the processing capacity to handle data transfers in a timely manner. As a result, there are numerous latency issues.
