  • The Intel Core i5-1135G7 SoC is a quad-core, mid-range SoC designed for ultra-light laptops. The Tiger Lake-UP3 processor will be available in September 2020. It has four Willow Cove CPU cores that run at 2.4 GHz (base clock speed @ 28 W TDP) and can be clocked up to 4.2 GHz (1-core Boost). The all-core Boost clock frequency is 3.8 GHz. This CPU supports Hyper-Threading, allowing for up to 8 concurrent processing threads.
  • The AMD Ryzen 5 5500U is a hexa-core Lucienne APU designed for slimmer laptops. The Zen 2 microarchitecture underpins its six CPU cores. The cores operate at clock speeds ranging from 2.1 to 4 GHz (Boost) and support SMT for a total of 12 threads. The chip is manufactured using the cutting-edge 7 nm TSMC process.
  • The more expensive Ryzen 5 5600U is based on the newer Zen 3 architecture and has faster clock speeds. When compared to the older Ryzen 5 4500U (Renoir), the Ryzen 5 5500U has SMT support, but the specs are otherwise very similar.
