The heating issues exist, but only in the 2000 series or second generation.
The 3000 series of Ryzen processors, such as the Ryzen 5 3500U and Ryzen 7 3700U, also heat up, but much less than the previous generation. However, when compared to its competitor, the Intel i5/i7 8th gen, Intel performs slightly better.
When it comes to the AMD Ryzen 4000 series, everything changes. Processors such as the R5 4500U and R7 4700U have virtually no heating issues. When pushed hard, the 10th generation Intel processors generate significantly more heat than the Ryzen 4000 series.
  • The third and fourth generations of Ryzen processors are currently popular. The majority of laptops include R5 3500U/4500U and R7 3700U/4700U processors.
  • If you choose the third generation, you may experience some heating issues, but not enough to render the laptop inoperable.
  • There are no heating issues if you go with 4th generation.
