1 volt peak to peak is the correct level. Only an oscilloscope or a video level metre can be used to precisely set this.

The largest voltage shift that occurs during one cycle of alternating voltage or current is known as the peak-to-peak value. The difference between an AC voltage's positive and negative peaks is known as the peak-to-peak value.

peak-to-peak (pk-pk) is the difference between a waveform's maximum positive and negative amplitudes. When an alternating current (AC) wave has no direct current (DC) component, the pk-pk amplitude is twice the peak amplitude.
