With colour cameras, only visible wavelength lighting should be used. Tungsten halogen lighting is frequently recommended.

A halogen lamp (also known as a tungsten halogen lamp, quartz halogen lamp, or quartz iodine lamp) is an incandescent lamp that consists of a tungsten filament sealed in a compact transparent envelope filled with an inert gas and a small amount of a halogen, such as iodine or bromine.

This band of wavelengths is referred to as visible light. The human eye can detect wavelengths ranging from 380 to 700 nanometers in most cases.
