This is accomplished in five simple steps:
  • Set the lens's physical focus to infinity (clockwise from the front).
  • Aim the camera at the desired subject.
  • Release the back focus mechanism on the camera.
  • To get the best picture possible, adjust the back focus.
  • Secure the back focus mechanism of the camera.

The 'focal flange length' is referred to as 'back focus.' This is the distance between the CCD and the back lens element.
