To choose the correct camera for your application:

  • This is a rather difficult decision in general. Many components of the installation must be considered in order to achieve the best possible performance that suits your needs.
  • Where additional scene detail is desired, a high-resolution camera should be explored. Color 460 TVL, Monochrome 570 TVL, for example. In low-light situations, a more sensitive camera will improve reproduction. The least amount of light required for a camera to generate a useable image is represented by its sensitivity. Color 1.0 Lux at F1.2, for example.
  • When an object is photographed against a bright background, a traditional camera generates a pale backdrop. Backlight Compensation (BLC) will compensate for bright light sources while maintaining picture quality.
  • An optional peak white inverter or eclipse function can invert concentrated light sources directed towards the camera (e.g. automobile headlamps). This has the effect of adding detail to areas and making an otherwise shadowed object visible.
