  • Primary storageis also known as 'primary memory,' and it is volatile in nature, such as RAM, which is a primary memory that loses data when the computer reboots or loses power. It stores data or information that the central processing unit can access directly.
  • RAM is stored in integrated circuits so that it may be accessed quickly. It's a high-speed data storage media that's directly attached to the CPU via the memory bus, allowing active programmes to communicate with it.
  • Secondary storage is a type of storage in the computer's memory hierarchy that is used to store data or information for a long time, or even forever. Non-volatile memory, often known as external memory, differs from primary storage in that it is not accessed directly by the central processing unit.
  • They're also known as auxiliary storage because they're used in addition to primary storage and can be both internal and external. When it comes to data access, they are slower than primary storage devices since they are not immediately accessed by I/O channels.
