What are the basic objectives of network security?
  • Protecting the usefulness, reliability, integrity, and safety of a network and its data is what network security is all about. Network security prevents a wide range of dangers from entering or propagating throughout a network.
  • Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability are the three main goals of network security. The CIA triangle is widely used to depict these three pillars of network security.
  • The purpose of confidentiality is to shield sensitive company information from unwanted access. The confidentiality aspect of network security ensures that data is only accessible to those who are authorised.
  • Integrity is defined as the preservation and assurance of data accuracy and consistency. The integrity function ensures that data is accurate and not tampered with by unauthorised individuals.
  • The purpose of availability in Network Security is to ensure that data, network resources, and services are always available to legitimate users, whenever they need them.
