The different functionalities in network security:

What are the different functionalities in network security?

  • Firewalls use established security rules to regulate incoming and outgoing traffic on networks. Firewalls keep unwanted traffic out and are an essential aspect of everyday computing. Firewalls, particularly Next Generation Firewalls, are critical for network security since they focus on preventing malware and application-layer attacks.
  • Network segmentation establishes boundaries between network segments that share a common purpose, risk, or role within the company. The perimeter gateway, for example, separates a company network from the Internet.
  • Access control establishes who, what organisations, and what devices have access to network applications and systems, preventing unauthorised access and maybe threats.
  • Remote accessibility Individual hosts or customers, such as telecommuters, mobile users, and extranet consumers, have remote and secure access to a company network using VPN. Typically, each host has VPN client software installed or utilises a web-based client.
