Simplex is a communication method in which only one signal is sent in the same direction at all times. On the same frequency, the transmitter and receiver work. This is not the same as duplex transmission, which allows two-way broadcasting. The mode is properly called as half duplex when two stations exist and broadcast signals to each other on the same frequency alternately (not simultaneously). Most amateur radio operators, on the other hand, refer to half duplex as simplex.
Radio and television broadcasting, computer to printer communication, and keyboard to
computer connectivity are all examples of simplex.
