  • The corporation wants as many devices as possible to run the updated software. Microsoft requires a big number of users to persuade independent programmers that developing useful or amusing apps for Windows 10 devices is worthwhile. Executives also hope that exposing users to the most recent and greatest version of Windows will encourage them to explore other Microsoft products on PCs and mobile devices.
  • Satya Nadella, the company's CEO, has stated that he hopes to have 1 billion Windows 10 devices in three years. Microsoft estimates that 1.5 billion people use some form of Windows now. Rather than charging customers to upgrade, as Microsoft used to do, it's adopting Apple's and Google's free download strategy.
