Good upgrade over Microsoft Paint:

  • Paint.NET began as a student project in 2004, but it has now evolved into one of the greatest free image editors available for Windows. It's even a viable alternative to entire suites like Photoshop and GIMP if you're only a light user.
  • IrfanView also has several features that Paint doesn't have, but that make using the app easier and more enjoyable.
  • Pinta includes easy-to-use drawing tools, supports layers, has infinite history, and has 35 effects. It takes a unique approach to the workplace in front of you, which is perhaps the most intriguing aspect.
  • Krita is a programme designed for digital artists. Concept artists, illustrators, matte and texture artists, and workers in the visual effects sector are all targeted by the app. That isn't to say it isn't a useful tool for those looking for an alternative to Microsoft Paint.
  • Photoscape is another excellent Paint substitute. The app is primarily for photo editing. It's a wonderful solution for Microsoft Paint if you use it to edit images you've taken. Many of the features it provides are photo-centric and are not available in Paint.
