The import function in MS Access does not overwrite or modify any existing tables or objects. If the source and destination file names are identical, numbers are appended to the source file's name. For example, a table named info will be renamed info 1.

The location from which the data is moved is referred to as the source, while the location to which it is moved is referred to as the destination or target. When you copy a file from one directory to another, you do so from the source directory to the destination directory.
