• Snapchat is substantially more safe now that photographs and videos exchanged over the service are encrypted. However, just because your messages are encrypted does not guarantee that all of your data is secure. Take these actions to improve the security of your account if you want it to be even more safe.
• On photos shared between Snapchat users, end-to-end encryption is used. Snapchat text messages and other messages are not secured by the same encryption. Because Snapchat doesn't provide much information about the encryption it employs, it's difficult to know exactly what happens to your messages once they reach Snap's servers.
