Since Edge switched to Chromium, the two browsers have become fairly similar, and which one works best for you is a matter of personal preference. Edge, on the other hand, has the upper hand in a few areas. If speed and resource efficiency are important to you, Microsoft Edge should be your first choice over Chrome.
- Bug that irritates When a user imports their favourites from Edge to Chrome, the list is either out of date, partial, or completely empty. This occurs because Chrome (or rather, its Chromium core) reads the legacy Edge database instead of the new Chromium Edge database during the import. Users are unable to correctly convert their favourites from the new Edge browser to Chrome due to this oddity.
- While Chrome has a 68.79 percent desktop market share and a 63.72 percent mobile market share, Edge has an 8.1 percent desktop market share and a 0.1 percent mobile market share. The disparity is most likely explained by the fact that on Windows desktops, Edge is the default browser, whereas on Android devices, Chrome is the default.
- The new Edge browser is a tremendous improvement over the previous version, and there are compelling reasons to use it. However, you may choose to use one of the many alternative browsers available, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. When you upgrade to Windows 10, the installer promotes switching to Edge, and you may have done so unwittingly.
